Taking trivia and quizzes is more than a great way to occupy your time; it is also a way to exercise your mind. For the same reason that Sunday mornings are spent filling in a Sudoku puzzle or cross word puzzle out of the newspaper, it is possible that taking a trivia or a quiz might even enhance your creativity, increase energy, and prevent depression.
QuizzesA quiz is a series of questions and answers that you can choose the answers to. Usually, a quiz will be a list of multiple choice questions, meaning there are a number of answers given (usually 4) and it is your job to decide which answer is the correct one.
Personal QuizzesMany quizzes have no “wrong answers”. The results of your answers factor into a categorization. An example of a personal quiz would be “What kind of job is right for you?” A personal trivia quiz is very helpful for learning about one’s self, or to self evaluate a current situation.
Benefits of Personal Trivia Quizzes- Personal trivia can help you recognize obstacles that you may not be able to recognize on your own. For example, if you are looking to change careers to one that is more fulfilling, a personal trivia quiz can help you realize that you do not enjoy working with customer service, and that you should pursue a career that allows you to “be your own boss”.
- When taking a personal trivia quiz, a person will spend a lot of time digging deep into their inner thoughts and desires. A good personal trivia quiz can trigger a resolution for self improvement.
Fun QuizzesThere are other quizzes with no actual purpose, and no benefits, but they are fun to take. An example of this form of quiz is “What Type of Shoe Are You?” Answering the questions can be fun, and the results can be just as entertaining. Find some cool and fun quiz links in our directory.
TriviaTrivia, on the other hand, is a broader range of quizzes. While a quiz can be categorized as trivia, the term trivia also goes on to describe actual mental exercises. A trivia can test your knowledge in a specific topic, ranging from TV, Movies, and Music to the Fundamentals of Algebra, and a positive score is a rewarding experience when taking a mental test. A negative score, on the other hand, can also be positive if taken to encourage further studying or “refreshing the brain” in that topic.
The Benefits of Trivia- Trivia questions can be as challenging to the mind as a puzzle, and sometimes even more so. Trivia is a great way to see what you already know, as well as an opportunity to learn in a fun way.
- Trivia facts can lead to great conversation starters. A person who frequently practices trivia will never be a dull person to dine with!
- Trivia is a fun way to challenge friends who think they “know it all”. Gaining a higher score on a trivia than a friend is very rewarding personally and mentally.
It is a healthy decision to take a challenging quiz or trivia (or two) every morning, and there are specific benefits to individual types of quizzes or trivia.
Quizzes vs. TriviaIn a battle between the two, it’s a draw. Neither one is better than the other, because they are both good for you. A quiz is an exercise for your mind and personality, and trivia is an exercise for your brain and self esteem.
